A Common Sense Approach to the
Word of God
Today's traditional church has lost its focus on the Word of GOD and our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. It has been reduced to nothing more than a business with tax deductions, bank statements, the selling in the courtyard of the church with a love offering of, bake sales, and rules of what you cannot do without eternal damnation.
If today's church actually studied the Bibles that they carry around with them, they would understand that this behavior is nothing new and that Jesus experienced things in his day. In Matthew 21:12-13, Jesus highly disapproved of the church being reduced to a business, that he threw the money changers out of the church and in John 2:14-15 even implying anger in our LORD because he used a whip to drive them out. Jesus preached about how the love of money was the root of all evil, and was even betrayed by one of his own disciples for thirty pieces of silver.
Our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ brought a message of forgiveness of sins to the masses of sinners. He taught us that if we accepted him and his message into our lives, we could obtain eternal life with him in the kingdom of heaven. Most strive to have pleasures here on earth, when it is heaven and eternaty that is to be strived for. In Psalm 119:89, it says, "Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven", with heaven being that forever place where all of GOD'S promises to us are to be ultimately settled. Jesus taught us that faith without works is dead, but the starting point IS faith. If one BELIEVES in his heart (Faith), and confesses with his mouth (Actions/Works), then he shall be saved.
I created this website as a place to discuss the word of GOD and to apply those principles to my life through faith in the GOD who strenghtens me.
My name is Corey Sheppard and I designed this website after becoming disillusioned with the traditional church. It is my belief that most churches have spiritually defaulted on their congregations. Though I believe in prosperity, I don't agree with the prosperity doctrines because the emphasis is on riches and fleshly desires here on earth. The bible makes it clear in Psalms 119:89 "For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven". The desires are supposed to be for the things of GOD and not of the self. However, the doctrine of today has made GOD our servant, to do for us as we see fit. Instead of being about Ephesians 2:10 "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works", it is now more about the here and now. There are a lot of "Mega Churches", who are shining examples of riches, while the communities they are in are in poverty. I am not saying that the church should become a charitable organization, for the bible defines charity:
Lev 23:22 "And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shall not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reap, neither shall thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shall leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I [am] the LORD your GOD." A lot of these "Mega Churches" only believe in their own prosperity, and not in the genuine prosperity of their members. Most importantly, is the concept of the modern church of accepting Christ into your life. This philosophy is fundamentally wrong because it puts the saving experience on my willingness to "accept" Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Because I believe in a living and breathing Jesus, who rose from the dead for my sins, the saving experience is because of his action and NOT by anything I did. Faith is the only real "action" on the part of the believer. I do not believe that GOD views us as "Perfect" creatures, but more of being "Perfected" because of Christ who was perfect.

Psalms 84:5-12 A song of Strength
(5) Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of thee.
(6) Who passing through the valley of Wheeping make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
(7) They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before GOD.
(8) O LORD GOD of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O GOD of Jacob. Selah.
(9) Behold, O GOD our sheild, and look upon the face of thine anoinated.
(10) For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my GOD, than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
(11) For the LORD is a sun and sheild: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
(12) O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
